Family Fun at Calgary Zoo and Downhill Karting at Canada Olympic Park
Calgary is a great city to stop on the way to and from the Canadian Rockies. Before flying out of Calgary International Airport, we spent our last full day of vacation visiting Calgary Zoo and WinSport Canada Olympic Park.
Calgary Zoo
Visiting Calgary Zoo was a nice way to spend quality time with family. We loved seeing different animals from around the world. There was a little bit of line going to the Panda Passage, but it was moving fast and was worth waiting. The twin pandas playing with each other were so adorable.

The weather was beautiful that day and we had so much fun walking around the zoo. The animals seemed to enjoy the weather too. We visited the black bears, flamingos, bisons, camels, cougars, mountain goats, and many more.

Downhill Karting by Skyline Luge Calgary
Downhill Karting by Skyline Luge is located in Canada Olympic Park in Calgary. It is such a fun activity for kids and for those of us who will always remain a kid at heart.
Purchasing the tickets online saved us a lot of time because there was a long line at the counter when we arrived. Because we already had our tickets, we just went straight to the line for the chairlift, which took us to the top of the track.
From the chairlift, we could see people riding down the track and could not wait to get started.
Once we got to the top, we took a quick instructional session, just to make sure that we understood how to operate the kart. Soon after, we were on our way down the track, which was a blast. They also offer digital and printed photos for purchase at the photo counter at a reasonable price. We loved seeing the happy faces that were captured from the track cameras.

Jamaican Team Bobsled from Cool Runnings
On the way back to the parking lot, we noticed a couple of bobsleds on display. It turns out that one of them was the actual bobsled that the Jamaican team rode in the Disney movie Cool Runnings. It’s one of our favorite family movies, so naturally the kids were excited to sit in it.
