Lake Minnewanka Family Cruise Tour – Banff, Canada
Lake Minnewanka is a large glacial lake in Banff National Park and is one of Banff’s popular destinations. We booked the afternoon Family Cruise Tour when we visited Banff in the summer and had such a wonderful time.
The cruise was a great way to learn the history and fun facts of Lake Minnewanka while viewing the Canadian Rockies from a different perspective.
The weather was perfect that afternoon, and our guide was very friendly and informative. The wonderful captain let the kids take turn taking the wheel and wearing the captain hat, which was cool.
This activity was actually a last-minute decision for us because we had a free afternoon to spend in Banff. You can find the Lake Minnewanka Cruise Tour on Viator for $58 per person. We’re so glad we went for it, especially considering how much we got out of the experience.
As if driving the boat wasn’t exciting enough, the kids received frozen treats when the tour was over.
The cruise is not the only way to explore Lake Minnewanka. You can also rent motor boats, kayaks, and canoes from the on-site rental dock.
Always keep an eye for wildlife sightings when you are in Banff. We saw a beautiful bighorn sheep just chilling by the lake, and a black bear on the side of the road while we were inside the shuttle going to the lake.
