Lake Agnes Hiking Trail to Lake Agnes Teahouse
Lake Agnes hiking trail is a fun activity to do for families while visiting Lake Louise. The trail features lush forest setting and bird eye views of Lake Louise. We enjoyed tea and snack at Lake Agnes Teahouse and stopped at Mirror lake on the way up.
Although we arrived in Lake Louise early in the morning, we didn’t start the hike until mid-morning. The hike to the teahouse took us approximately 1.5 hours each way. The trail begins in front of Chateau Lake Louise. There was a sign that was easy to follow.
The trail to the teahouse is about 7 km (4.5 miles) from Lake Louise, and about 400 m (1300 ft) elevation. It was relatively easy to us, although we did take plenty of breaks to snap photos.
About halfway through the hike, we were able to see a bird-eye view of Lake Louise.
Just before we reached the teahouse, we arrived at Mirror Lake with a view of the Beehive.
Approximately 15 minutes later, we finally arrived at Lake Agnes. At this point, we were so glad that we dressed in layers. It was colder earlier in the morning but we were sweating halfway through the hike. It felt nice to shed some of the layers.
The hike was rewarded with teatime at Lake Agnes Teahouse. We did not have to wait long to get a table. However, by the time we were done eating, the line was so much longer. I can’t stress this enough, always start your day early when visiting any popular place in Banff to beat the crowd. It truly makes a difference.
The tea and pastries we had at the teahouse tasted so good after hiking. We got a table on the deck, which was nice because we got to enjoy a beautiful view of the lake and mountains while eating and sipping tea.
After fueling up, we hiked back down and exited the trail the same way we entered.
