Colorado Ski Trip and Holiday Extravaganza

Colorado is one of the most popular destinations during the holiday season, and we can see why. There are so many family-friendly things to do, from skiing and snowboarding, outdoor ice skating, shopping and dining, and taking a dip in world’s largest natural hot springs pool. It is also a great place to experience holiday festivities. We visited Denver’s Christkindlmarket and the towering Mile High Tree, and enjoyed the spectacular holiday light displays at Denver Botanic Gardens and Elitch Garden. Lastly, we welcomed the New Year with sparkling fireworks at 16th Street Mall.

Travel Tips

Epic Pass

Great value! Get your pass early for best prices. Access all of your favorite resorts, savings on lodging, rentals, lessons, food, and more.

Check out our Ski Trip Packing List that may help you remember what to bring and make your trip as smooth as possible.

Transportation

Although there are options for transportation, we opted for a rental car. Select the right car for safety and compliance with Colorado’s “Traction Law”.

Lodging

During the busy holiday season, lodging can expensive. Do your research and book early for best prices and convenient locations.

Things To Do

If you are not a skier or snowboarder, there are other fun activities to do around the mountains.

Book Early

Book early for popular activities. We regret not booking dog-sledding early enough. They were sold out a month before our trip.

High Altitude

Altitude sickness could potentially ruin your time at the mountain. See tips to help with altitude sickness.

Ski Rentals

If you don’t have your own skis or snowboards, there are places near the resorts with much better rates than what’s offered at the resorts.
