Keystone Ski Resort Colorado

Keystone Ski Resort in Colorado is perfect for any-level skiers and snowboarders. Our family is relatively new to skiing and snowboarding, so we started out at the Discovery Learning Area, which was very family-friendly and non-intimidating to beginners.

We stayed at the Keystone Resort, so we were able to take the resort shuttle to the Mountain House Base, right by the Discovery Area. Beginners like us could start out going up the “magic carpet” and testing out the beginner slopes. Once we were comfortable with stopping and turning, we were ready to go on the chairlifts and taking on the slightly more advance slopes. Our favorite part was riding the gondola to the Summit House and enjoyed the sunset and beautiful scenery from the top of the mountain.

Before our trip, we decided to get the Epic 2-Day Pass, which included the chairlift tickets, access to multiple resorts, and 20% off discounts on food, lodging, and rentals. We found the Epic Pass to be a good deal, because the price we paid was much less than buying the chairlift ticket alone. That said, we found the 20% off discount clause to be a gimmick. The Epic Pass discount only applies to restaurants and stores that are owned by the resort. Most restaurants we ate at and most stores we purchased items from did not accept the Epic Pass, including The Crepes Stand, Zuma Roadhouse, as well as many more gift shops and restaurants located at the River Run Base. The discount was only applied on places such as the resort food courts.
