Fushimi Inari Taisha, is the oldest Shinto shrine in Japan and is famous for the thousands of bright-red torii gates. It was definitely one of the most fascinating and distinguished places we visited in Kyoto.
A World Heritage Site, this charming village is famous for its traditional farmhouses with slanted rooftops. We visited the village on a snowy day and felt like we were inside a snow globe.
We had so much fun visiting Iwatayama Monkey Park and its dozens of adorable snow monkeys in their natural habitat. At the top, we were able to view the city of Kyoto, with roaming monkeys around us.
The bamboo grove in Kyoto was in our list of must-visit places in Japan. Walking through the seemingly endless bamboo path felt peaceful and whimsical. The nearby Kimono Forest was a special added bonus.
Osaka is a food paradise, from Dotonbori to Kuromon Market. There were so many options to choose from. Dotonbori river and the glowing neon signs at night were beautiful. And of course, the iconic Glico sign.
